Welcome to Whimsical Art

I have been interested in art for as long as I can remember and as I furthered my art education and studying with Anita Wolff and Donald (Putt) Putman, something kept tugging at me to do it my way, but I continued to do as I was taught.

In the mid-90s, I traveled to New Orleans and I discovered a fabulous artist by the name of James Michalopoulos, seeing his work changed MY work.  At that moment I decided to do it my way no matter what anybody said.   I did MY whimsical interpretation of the Amador City hotel which raised the eyebrows of some of my acquaintances, so I stuffed it in a closet and forgot about it.

A year or so later, I took out that painting and hung it in public… in no time it sold and the young man that bought it wanted me to do a painting of his home......and I have not stopped since.

It can't get that much better than enjoying what you do and other people enjoying it also… just makes for a win-win situation.  It is my hope to get a lot of these local scenes down on canvas before they disappear.

Somewhere, sometime, the site of a little house with glowing light in the windows triggered something in me.  I can't remember when that moment took place but somewhere, someplace that lighted light in the window inspired Me.....forever and a day.
